Beating the crowds

  • Tuesday to Thursday is quietest almost everywhere, and often cheaper.
  • Chair 1 (Big Mountain Express) and the Base Lodge lot are the busiest spots on powder days and holiday weeks. Arrive before 9 AM or use an overflow lot and the free SNOW Bus.
  • Ride the SNOW Bus from downtown Whitefish instead of driving up the mountain road. It runs free to the base in winter.
  • Ski Tuesday through Thursday and avoid the Dec 18 to Jan 2 stretch if you want shorter lift lines.
  • Chair 2 (Swift Creek Express) and Chair 7 (Big Creek Express) are alternate lifts from the base area and can spread the crowd on busy mornings.
