Beating the crowds

  • Tuesday to Thursday is quietest almost everywhere, and often cheaper.
  • Weekends and holidays sell out, so buy the day ticket online in advance; prices rise as inventory drops, and Monday to Thursday non-holiday days are the lowest-priced.
  • Parking is only tight on weekends and holidays. Arriving between 7:30 and 9:15 a.m. gets close-up parking, according to the resort's insider tips.
  • Indy Pass day tickets count toward White Pass's daily capacity bucket, and the resort encourages advance reservations on Indy days, so reserve before driving up US-12.
  • Base area lifts run 8:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., while Paradise Basin, High Camp, Basin Quad and Couloir Express close at 3:15 p.m., so plan the upper-mountain runs around that earlier cutoff.
