Beating the crowds

  • Tuesday to Thursday is quietest almost everywhere, and often cheaper.
  • Park in the free day lots that match your lift: P3 for Sunburst and Sundance express chairs and the Village Day Lodge, P5 (use the east entrance) for Morrisey and Orient, and P1 for the Burfield chair. Parking on village roads is not permitted from Nov 1 to Apr 30.
  • Lift lines are usually short; the resort's own pages and travel guides describe waits of about 10 to 15 minutes even on the busiest holiday days, so the biggest crowd pressure is on Dec 26 to Jan 3 and during the Mar 13 to Mar 30 spring break.
  • Burfield chair on Tod Mountain (base in P1) is the access point to the upper mountain; go there early on powder mornings, before village traffic arrives.
