Beating the crowds
- Tuesday to Thursday is quietest almost everywhere, and often cheaper.
- Ski midweek. Tuesday through Thursday is far quieter than Saturday, when Boston, New York and Montreal skiers converge and gondola and FourRunner lines can reach 30 to 45 minutes by 9 a.m.
- Main Mansfield and Midway lots charge $30 Friday through Sunday and on holidays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Carpools of four or more ride free, lots are free Monday through Thursday, and they are free after 2 p.m. Arriving after 2 p.m. or carpooling avoids the paid-parking rush.
- The Toll House and Cross Country Center lots stay free every day and connect to the free shuttle to Mansfield Main Base and Spruce Peak. Parking there avoids the Mountain Road (Route 108) backup.
- Mountain Road (Route 108) backs up badly on peak mornings. Arrive before 8 a.m. on weekends, or start with Spruce Peak terrain while Mansfield lines build.
