Beating the crowds
- Tuesday to Thursday is quietest almost everywhere, and often cheaper.
- Lift tickets are sold online only and priced by demand, with the highest rate on the day of skiing, so booking early on a weekday is the cheapest and least crowded option.
- Power Pass holders don't need reservations at Sipapu, so they can pick a weekday and skip the blackout dates listed here (Dec 27 to 31, Jan 16 to 17, Feb 13 to 14).
- The Weekday Power Pass blocks weekends and Dec 28 to 31, so Monday to Friday skiing is the quietest way to use a pass here.
- Sipapu is one of the few New Mexico areas open from late November, so early-season weekdays before the Dec 27 holiday period tend to be the least busy.
