Beating the crowds

  • Tuesday to Thursday is quietest almost everywhere, and often cheaper.
  • Park in the free Fall Line Lot or Gateway Lot and ride the free SPOT shuttle or the Creekside Express. On weekends and holidays the Lakeview Lot costs $25 and fills first, so the free Red Barn shuttle is the easiest option.
  • Take the free SPOT shuttle from the Red Barn Park & Ride, which runs every half hour. The first bus up leaves at 6:30am and the last bus up at 5:00pm.
  • Weekday traffic and parking are lighter than weekends. Local skiers suggest Mondays and Fridays, and on powder days the Stella six-pack and Basin Express lines build early, so Lakeview Triple is a common alternative.
  • Buy tickets online ahead of time. Afternoon tickets are sold Sunday through Thursday starting at 12:30pm, which avoids the morning rush at the window.
