Beating the crowds
- Tuesday to Thursday is quietest almost everywhere, and often cheaper.
- Buy single-day tickets online at least one day ahead for up to 20% off. Walk-up availability is not guaranteed on some days, and window prices are higher.
- Weekdays are quieter. Mid-January through February is the least crowded stretch, according to local guides.
- Lunch crowds peak roughly 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. Ski through lunch and eat after 1:30 pm, when the Main Lodge line clears.
- The Beartooth Highway is closed in winter. Drive US-212 and Ski Run Road from Billings, and check MDT 511 each morning for road conditions.
