Beating the crowds
- Tuesday to Thursday is quietest almost everywhere, and often cheaper.
- Mountain Village lots require a reservation before noon every day from Dec 5 to Apr 3; reservations guarantee a spot, and after 12 p.m. the surface lots are free with no reservation, so a late-morning arrival is the cheapest option.
- Canyons Village needs no reservation. Its parking garage costs $29 a day and is free after noon, and the lots and garage open in early December, so the Canyons side is usually easier to get into than Mountain Village on busy mornings.
- Use the free park-and-ride express buses (every 15 minutes) from Ecker Hill, Richardson Flat, and Park City High School (weekends and holidays only) to avoid the Mountain Village lot queue.
- Carpools of four or more get free parking with a reservation at Mountain Village and free all-day parking at Canyons Village, so a full car is often quicker than solo driving on SR-224 and Empire Avenue.
