Beating the crowds
- Tuesday to Thursday is quietest almost everywhere, and often cheaper.
- Sunday through Thursday lift hours are 10:30 am to 4:30 pm, so arrive before 10:30 and plan to ski through the afternoon. Weekends and the mid-January to February peak are the busiest times.
- Thursday night Lume skiing runs under the lights until 8:00 pm from Jan 8 through Mar 12. Tickets start at 3:00 pm, so it can spread out the daytime crowd.
- Parking is free and sits near the base lodge, and there is no public transit or ride-share, so plan on a rental car or your own vehicle. Keep the drive from Houghton County Airport (CMX) in mind when timing arrivals.
- Crowds are light even at peak, but the lodge and base facilities are limited. Pack lunch, and expect to eat in the car on busy days.
