Beating the crowds

  • Tuesday to Thursday is quietest almost everywhere, and often cheaper.
  • Uphill travel is banned on the premises from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, so skin-track traffic is off the slopes during lift hours. Plan uphill laps before 8:00 AM or after 5:30 PM, and use Lot 2 and the Paradise run for uphill access.
  • Weekday openings are limited, so check the posted hours before going. Weekdays outside holiday weeks, such as Jan 5 to Jan 22, are usually the lightest days.
  • The Grizzly chair is the only lift out of the base area and feeds most of the terrain, so expect the longest lines there. Going up LaVelle Creek from mid-mountain spreads people out.
  • The Snow Park chair serves a west-facing area that is good for afternoon skiing and tends to be less busy than the main lifts (per a 2022 review, so confirm conditions).
