Beating the crowds
- Tuesday to Thursday is quietest almost everywhere, and often cheaper.
- Lots open at 6:00 AM and the free Main Lodge shuttle runs 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, so arriving before 8 AM on Saturdays is the simplest way to get a space near the lodge.
- Free parking is also available at Chair 4 and Chair 2 (The Mill), which can be less crowded than Main Lodge lots.
- Weekend arrivals from Southern California build late morning and storms on Highway 395 slow the drive, so Tuesday through Thursday is calmer.
- Main Lodge is the busiest base. Canyon and Eagle lodges are often easier starts when their terrain fits your ability, and the Village Gondola links the Village to Canyon Lodge.
