Beating the crowds
- Tuesday to Thursday is quietest almost everywhere, and often cheaper.
- Parking is free at the Loveland Basin and Loveland Valley bases. On powder days the lots have filled to capacity about a dozen times per season, so arriving before 9 a.m. is the safest bet. A new 500-space lot at the Valley base opens for 2026-27.
- Shuttles between the Basin and Valley run every 5 to 10 minutes, so you can park at whichever base has space and ride over.
- Weekdays are noticeably quieter than weekends. Loveland's own posting says it has had midweek days with minimal lift lines, such as the Tuesday after MLK weekend.
- Snowstang bus service from Denver Union Station, Lakewood and Golden runs on weekends from Dec 13 to May 3, which avoids the I-70 traffic and parking search.
