Beating the crowds
- Tuesday to Thursday is quietest almost everywhere, and often cheaper.
- Parking at the ski area is free in the main lots outside the Lodge of Ten Peaks and Whiskeyjack Lodge, and no reservation is needed. On busy Saturdays, the closest rows fill by mid-morning, so arriving before 9 am gets a spot near the lodge.
- The free ski shuttle from nine Banff hotels runs first come, first served with no reservation, from about 7:20 am to 11:10 am. Taking it avoids parking and driving the Trans-Canada on busy days.
- Lift tickets for dates before Dec 1 go on sale Nov 6 at up to 50% off while fewer lifts run. Early-season weekdays before Dec 1 are typically the lightest days on the mountain. Mid-Week Pass holders can ski Monday to Thursday, which is the quieter part of the week.
- Calgary school spring break is generally the last full week of March, so expect more traffic and a fuller mountain in late March. Plan to arrive early on those weekdays and leave by mid-afternoon.
