Beating the crowds

  • Tuesday to Thursday is quietest almost everywhere, and often cheaper.
  • Book a date-specific lift ticket online and reserve parking in advance through ParkWhiz. K-1 Preferred and Snowshed Valet fill on weekends and peak dates, and reservations must be in by 8:00 a.m. on the day.
  • Park at Skyeship or Bear Mountain lodges, which the resort describes as typically less crowded. All base lots are free. Use the Vale lot on Route 4 as overflow and ride the shuttle to K-1.
  • Shuttles start 30 minutes before lifts open and run until 5:00 p.m. Use the shuttle between lodges rather than driving between them on peak days.
  • Midweek visits, especially Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and the stretch after Jan 3 and before Jan 16 are the quietest parts of the season compared with holiday and February break weeks.
