Beating the crowds

  • Tuesday to Thursday is quietest almost everywhere, and often cheaper.
  • Buy lift tickets online before you go. Hunter limits day ticket sales this season, and tickets sell out on peak days.
  • On weekends, arrive before 7:30 AM to get a spot in the main lot. Weekend shuttles run from the lots farther from the base lodge.
  • Epic pass holders who need no rentals can park at Hunter North (Route 23A and Deming Road) and ride the Northern Express lift to the main face. That lot has no ticket sales or rentals.
  • Hunter East's learning area and the Belt Parkway off the summit get congested on busy weekends. Hunter North trails usually see lighter traffic.
