Beating the crowds

  • Tuesday to Thursday is quietest almost everywhere, and often cheaper.
  • Buy lift tickets online before you go to skip the ticket window; walk-up tickets carry a $10 surcharge. The window is open 8:00am to 1:30pm daily.
  • The resort says its lift lines are short. The Colter six-pack on Peaked Mountain added about 600 acres, so Peaked Mountain is a good place to spread out when Fred's Mountain gets busier.
  • Avoid Dec 24 to Jan 3 and Feb 12 to 15 if you can. The resort blocks those dates for its discounted products, which means they are its holiday and mid-winter peaks.
  • Lifts run 9:00am to 4:00pm, with Blackfoot and Colter closing at 3:30pm and Sacajawea at 3:45pm. Plan your last runs around those closing times.
