Beating the crowds

  • Tuesday to Thursday is quietest almost everywhere, and often cheaper.
  • Arrive before 9 AM on weekends and holidays. Lifts open at 8:30 AM and the main lots fill first. Lots D, E, F and G run shuttles on weekends and holidays, so park there if A and B are full.
  • Start at the North Creek Ski Bowl, which is a separate area with its own parking and shuttle. Gore's own guidance is that it is often less busy than the main base.
  • Lines at the base Northwoods Gondola and Adirondack Express II form before 10:30 AM. The Straight Brook Quad usually has a shorter wait for the same connecting terrain.
  • Lunch from 12 to 1 PM is the busiest time on the mountain. Weekday mornings are typically the least crowded, and the main base lifts often clear out after lunch.
