Beating the crowds
- Tuesday to Thursday is quietest almost everywhere, and often cheaper.
- Monday through Friday outside the holiday and spring break dates pay the $49 rate and are the lightest days on the hill; Cooper's own pricing is built around that split.
- Holiday and spring break windows run Dec 19 to Jan 3, Jan 15 to 17, Feb 12 to 14, and Mar 13 to 26, so plan weekday visits outside those dates.
- Ski Cooper is about 10 miles north of Leadville on US 24, and the drive from Leadville takes roughly 40 to 50 minutes in good conditions. Check COtrip for US 24 before leaving, since Tennessee Pass gets slow in snow.
- Parking is free and close to the lifts, and reviewers report short lift waits even on busier days, so arriving mid-morning on a weekday is generally enough to avoid lines.
