Beating the crowds
- Tuesday to Thursday is quietest almost everywhere, and often cheaper.
- Preferred parking applies only on weekends and holidays, in the lower two lots. Daily permits are $30 cash, sold from 10am on a limited basis, so plan on arriving before the lots fill.
- RVs are not allowed on site from 7:30am to 5:30pm on weekends and holidays, and RV spaces are not accessible during the day. Midweek RV arrivals between 8am and 5pm are allowed on non-holiday days.
- Highway 168 is the only access road from Fresno, and the drive takes about 90 minutes to two hours. Heavy snowfall adds delays, so check conditions before leaving and expect slower traffic on storm days.
- Holiday periods are Dec 26 to Dec 31, Jan 1 to Jan 3, Jan 16 to Jan 18, and Feb 13 to Feb 15. Aim for non-holiday weekdays, and from Jan 5 the resort is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so Thursdays and Fridays are the quieter open days.
