Beating the crowds

  • Tuesday to Thursday is quietest almost everywhere, and often cheaper.
  • Sunday through Friday is the cheaper window: Boyne's Bring 'Em voucher gives adult lift tickets at $59 Sunday through Friday versus $69 on Saturdays and holidays, so a weekday visit also avoids the heaviest days.
  • Avoid the Boyne Michigan Pass blackout dates of Dec 27 to 31, Jan 16 to 17 and Feb 13 to 14, which are the resort's own peak days.
  • On weekends and holidays after Christmas, the Mountain Express chairlift opens at 8:30am for First Tracks, but only for Boyne Michigan Pass holders. Pass holders can start on the first chair before the general public.
  • SnowStash advises buying lift tickets at least 7 days ahead for the best rates, since window prices move with demand.
