Beating the crowds

  • Tuesday to Thursday is quietest almost everywhere, and often cheaper.
  • Parking is free and first come, first served. Arrive early on sunny weekends and holidays, since the main lot fills. On busy holiday weekends, use the lower lot for overflow. Short-term spots sit in front of the ticket office and the Main Lodge for drop-off.
  • Weekdays are the quietest days. Resort guidance says Monday to Friday, especially January through mid-March, has minimal crowds, while weekends draw Cache Valley, Utah State University, and Bear Lake visitors. One local skier reports Sundays are quieter than Saturdays.
  • Logan Canyon (Hwy 89) is the only road in. Carry chains or use AWD with snow tires, since UDOT can issue a Traction Law after heavy snow. Check udottraffic.utah.gov before leaving.
  • Utah resort guidance says canyon crowds usually thin after lunch, so starting the afternoon around 1 p.m. can mean less traffic and fewer people on the lifts.
