Beating the crowds

  • Tuesday to Thursday is quietest almost everywhere, and often cheaper.
  • Park at the Brush Creek Park and Ride, which is free, and take the free RFTA bus to any of the four mountains; the Aspen Snowmass app shows lot status before you drive.
  • Aspen Highlands garage has few spaces, fills fast, and now requires paying for parking before you ski; four or more guests arriving before 10:30am may get free parking with an HOV redemption.
  • Buttermilk has no parking during X Games (Jan 29-31, 2027), so plan on the bus that day.
  • Dec 14 through Dec 20 and Jan 2 onward are generally quieter than the Dec 26-30 holiday stretch; Buttermilk and Highlands open Dec 12, so the week after that is often lighter across all four mountains.
