Beating the crowds
- Tuesday to Thursday is quietest almost everywhere, and often cheaper.
- Weekend and powder days fill the free Daylodge lot first. When it is full, the resort sends cars to overflow parking with a complimentary shuttle, so arrive early or ride a bus that drops at the Daylodge.
- Lifts run 10:30 am to 4 pm in the published hours, so plan to be at the base by 10 am. Midweek (Mon-Thu) full-day tickets are $119 versus $149 prime and $169 holiday.
- Check 511.alaska.gov before driving the Seward Highway. Avalanche control closures add about 45 minutes or more, so leave early on Anchorage ski-day mornings.
- Peak Pass holders have no blackout dates this season, so midweek and non-holiday days are the easiest to plan around.
